Rehabilitating a MFA Site

    A general question...

Suppose an unnamed person wants to set up a new web site about, say, Widgets, and this person (no relation to anybody in this thread) set up a Made for Adsense site a couple of years back that uses a pretty good domain name. Like www dot widgets101 dot com or something...

Anybody have any thoughts on whether the old MFA site with the pretty good domain name is damaged for SEO purposes? Or, will things like the age and a handful of aged links, etc., help you out.

I guess the tradeoff is a new fresh domain name with sandbox effect, etc. no baggage, versus an older PR=3 site that has a handful of links but that Google knows was originally MFA...
