When You submit web directory ,You select normally 1.Regular links free or 2.Regular links with reciprocal ??
I personally always submit to the one without the reciprocal. It's up to you if you feel comfortable enough about the other site to link to it. The down side of giving out reciprocal links is this — you never know for sure who will own that site a month or a year from now. Case in point: mine is a religious website. So one day I got an email from a reader who advised me to check out a website that I had linked to from my outgoing links page. Well, it turned out to be a very disreputable site (to say the least), much to my emabarrassment. Here I was, a religious site, with a link to a site I wouldn't want to be remotely associated with. Apparently, someone had sold the domain I had originally linked out to, and the new owner had changed the content entirely. The bottom line? — It's fine to link to other websites. But you'd better check out those links occasionally. In this internet world we live in, with existing domains being bought by others, you don't know from one day to the next what type of content may be on websites you link out to.
