Why do i have to use a creditcard for funding the namecheap account?

I thought you could pay via PayPal?

Godaddy is also requiring to pay with creditcard if you use the PayPal option...i want to use PayPal with Namecheap as well and again they want me to use a credit card.

WTF  Why can't i use The email type Payment system...that is what PayPal is inniatily is based upon right?

Why even put an option to pay with PayPal if in the end you still have to use the funds on your credit card to pay for a purchase?

I've had that problem with GoDaddy when trying to sign up for something that includes repeat billing, like a hosting plan.. but never with NameCheap. Try this:

Create a Namecheap account without buying anything
Load money into the account via Paypal

i have close to 10 domains with namecheap and all are paid with paypal
U have to add money into your namecheap account, via thier control panel
but ive done it many times with no issues.
Its a wierd way to do it but it works

I exactly suggest the GoDaddy to register new domain by PayPal. I always choose it and I've never lived any problem. And thier prices are not very high.

Yeah, that's what i did, i registered a free account and tried to load money into the namecheap account by using the control panel and then i encounter the problems i described.

For you that succeeded probably live in the U.S. and for some reason the Netherlands isn't yet accepted for this kind of funding.
Why is it even asking for my credit card number?

Well strangly enough on the paypal site it was mentioned that i do not have to verify my account for making payments (I am from the Netherlands) and i also have verified my credit card by typing that 4 digit number.

I am ditching the idea to pay through Paypal and i will do it in the fashion i have done before by using my checking account.

This delays it for a couple of days but i will take the risk, if the domains are being taken before i could...then so be it :( My hands are tied.

I will look at the option bschneider5 mentioned as a last resort.

Try getting your paypal account verified and then try it. I switched to Namecheap a few months ago from godaddy and haven't looked back.

I'm better of getting extra funds on my credit card so i can easily purchase domains if i need to.
I'll wait a couple of days

I really have to agree that Paypal isn't that convenient as they portrait to be...i really shouldn't have tried anyways with all the stories i have read about Paypal.

I really don't understand companies as Namecheap if they offer a payment option to pay via Paypal and in the end you will be needing to use your credit card anyway

Farkas, did you pay through Paypal by using e-mail or by using your credit card to fund the Namecheap account?
