Does anyone know of a registrar that provides free domain transfers and gives a 1 year renewal? if not, does anyone know of a really cheap one?
No there is none that I have heard. GoDaddy.com You can use coupon codes and get some discount for it.
If you want cheap then Godaddy.com Domainsite.com is a good one I always register my domains from here... No registrar provide free renewal and domain Transfer *Sad*
Because they have little to no incentive to provide such. It's been years since Network Solutions pulled this off, but no other registrar has dared take risks.
Free transfers will open the host to a lot of abuse because people will sign up with them for a year during the free period and leave them after and having them mop up the massive cost. It is a really bad idea. Besides the domain name is only a few dollars so it should not be a huge dent in your pocket.
