Registering .US domains even if i am not american?

    Hi,
    i was wondering if i could register a .US domain even if i do not live in the USA and am not a USA citizen.
    And if i can, wich registrar will allow me to do it?
    At namecheap they didn't even if in the options there was "Have a company outside of USA".

    I suppose you only need a US domicile, rather than anything else.

    just don't tell anybody.. one little iraqi domain buyer bought .us domain.. and see what happened?

    I once owned a .us domain, when registering it I had to choose from a couple of options and tell them what it was going to be used for.
    I could do it because the site was going to be aimed to the amercian market or something like that (that was one fo teh options I think).

    I registered it at Directi.com.

    it's just a domain, people write all kind of stuff in their whois...
    .org used to be for organizations once too ;)
