Hey i've tried to find this answer online, but couldn't find a specific answer.. or have heard mixed things. i'm trying to rank for a 2 word and 3 word term that is not listed within my domain name. i noticed a few country domains are available with those 2 or 3 word keywords bob-banana.us my-bob-banana.es etc.. I'm wondering if i register those domains.. should I link build those domains with the keyword listed in the domain, then have limited outbound links and only one link with those anchor text to the real site i'm trying to target? I'm just concerned that the amount of effort for a new domain, with the '-' between them, and with the individual country ending will not fair very useful.. and i should really just focus on link building the original term for the target site thoughts??
best choice for good PR are .org domains. Dashes in urls should be OK, but everybody are avoiding them in domain names. I wonder why... I'd say for the practical reasons...
