I have a company in italy. I wanted to register a domain(.IT). And i saw godaddy has support for this domain. I trusted godaddy and i registered. After registeration i set nameservers for it . I wait it for 3 days to be set the nameservers. At last i couldn't set it. It sent me "Error" . I sent support message to godaddy they told me wait 5 days. Again same problem. I asked for to change whois again it gave me error. Until now i don't have any respect to godaddy. It seems it would be best to buy from main domain supplier of IT domains.I will transfer domain to that company. Do you advice me a domain company that i can also change whois ns ? And what is the offical IT registeration website. For example in Turkey it's www.nic.tr is it also nic.it in italy ?
i think .it takes few days to register because of paper work. can you check your .it whois and see if that really registered
Selam (hi) These are the nic.it's requirements for registering an .it domain name; Also you are able to register .it domains at here, here and here. I couldn't see those bureaucratic stuff in these sites but they have the same requirement which is; I don't know why there is a problem with dns at Godaddy. Good luck.
For Italian extensions you may head off to www.nominalia.com, however Godaddy may work as far as you setup via full DNS console manager rather than using the default nameservers facility.
You are in good company! I also have a company in Italy, we spend a significant amount of time there, and my wife is a native Italian speaker. That's not enough! When you register an .it domain, there is a written form that must be filled out and certified and returned within a short period of time. Then there is another questionaire to be completed. It's full of abbreviations that even my hosting company could not identify. We struggled through this with an Italian hosting company, and even with their help, we did not get the job done. I finally kissed off the EUR10 or 15 that it cost me and said "forget it!" But even to this day (almost four years later) I periodically get questions in the post and email about renewal of the domain name, whether I don't want to subscribe for another one, etc. My advice: stick to almost ANYTHING else, but never an .it domain name! I ended up with a .com that has served me well.
Hello, to register an .it you don't need anymore papers and so on. Things are changed some months ago..Now it is real time if you register with italian hosting company i don't know how things work with godaddy.. If you want to transfer domain from your register to another you need to send fax-paper to nic.it.
