    Well it's very simple,

I have found many domains which are expired currently but have back links if I check through Yahoo site explorer's inlinks section for each domain.

What is your thought about registering that domain name and starting up a blog..

What are the pro's and con's with regards to the SEO in this issue.

    thanks :)

Well, having a bunch of good expired domains with lot of juicy links is what every SEO is dreaming I suppose.
PRO: You gain links from the very start, which helps greatly.
PRO: Old domains (if you do this properly) also save the trust rank they had, which helps even more.
CON: All in all, the trick is still somewhat grey-hat. Once Google realizes the owner of TLD has changed, it drops you off immediately.

i think registering inspired domains is helpful on seo means.

all i can say is this: maybe you can put up blog or page with somewhat similar to it's previous niche so that backlinks are highly related which can add you some seo points on serps

I don't know about ownership, but I will consider content, for example if your content is highly differs then the backlink anchor text or the meta keyword and description are changed from the last time google cached your site, your position will be dropped.
