Registering a domain through 2 companies!!!

At the beginning of the month I registered a .co.uk domain name with a domain registration company in the UK. (not sure I should mention their name but they - Reg in the title) It didn't cost much and I waited for my nameservers to propagate. After 10 days I was getting impatient - particularly as a whois search was still returning domain available.

I tried to contact support but I seemed to get standard replies that were taken straight from the FAQs. In the end I bought the domain a second time through another company called 34SP who I have used before. My site is now up and runnning less than 48 hours later.

I am still to hear from the first company and will of course be looking for a full refund. How can this happen. How can it take more 10 days for them to register my domain with Nominet?

Has anybody heard of this happening before?

Most registrars are able to automatically register domains in less than 30 seconds these days. Takes a few hours to 24-48 hours to propagate fully but usually you can get into it pretty quick. Sounds like better issues involved.

There definitely seem to be some fundemental problems there - I have still not heard a thing from support.
