I solved the problem about that the whois protection would not go off and show registerfly as the owner/contact even if it shows off in the domain list at Registerfly. The trick is that you can change the info that are showing when the protection is enabled. Just change that to your info and go on with the transfer.

If you see an Autorization code there before you make changes, be sure to note it down, since when you update your whois details, the code will disappear.

GoDaddy is the best IMO. :) Followed by domainsite and then namecheap. ;)

I think most people like namecheap because it offers Paypal as an option for payment.

    GD doesn't.

GoDaddy accepts Pay Pal. They have been accepting it for a long long time. I went with GoDaddy b/c now its not about whos cheapest but whos most reliable, plus they have a price of 6.50 /per domain name IF you were a register fly customer. They cattered to our needs almost immediately. Only thing that made RegisterFly a good deal really was the FREE who is hiding. Now most people cant afford it. I think we should push GoDaddy to make this a FREE feature for new domain names b/c as far as I know .. it costs them nuthing. If every domain had Who Is protection .. EVERYONEs privacy would be protected. Right now they make you pay double to be protected from the internet spammers.

Im quite furious right now b/c I been calling Register Fly everyday for 3 weeks .. and the same guy answers the phone (sounds like Dell tech support) and tells me it will be up very shortly. I tell him I been calling for weeks, that theres domains lost, need renewing and expired sites are going down b/c of it, and questioning why how on the face of this planet there is not going to be 5,000 lawsuites with this type of 'down time'. I asked to speak with a manager .. and he told be that he was in a meeting till 7:30 .. (but yet they dont answer phones past 6). he said that the 'Tech Department' is a 'seperate department' and that they just keep updating him and that they 'just sent him a message, it will be up shortly'. Wasnt till I searched google did I find out what was REALLY going on. I can garauntee if you call Register Fly right now, and question your domains w/o letting them know you already know whats going on.. they will LIE LIE and LIE somemore. Its not even like there any better now that the 'bad' ceo partner is gone.

Its absolutely dispicable and ICANN needs to figure something out. This is exactly what there for and I havent seen anything regaurding lost/expired domains . Why is Register Fly still taking $$$ for orders? then not refunding. They broke every rule in the book. They should not be given a chance to 'Come Back' after this one. They need to settle the court case (Which hopefully covers losing the entire business).

I wonder if ICANN will do what they say. I hope so. But ICANN has been incredible slow dealing with Registerfly. ICANN has showed too that they are really not of any use when it comes to this matter. Thousands of people have gotten their business down the drain while ICANN has known about it and done nothing.

I don't see how it can be. For all it's internationalism, webmasters are a relatively small community so word travels fast. People are leaving in droves.

Then there's the small matter of the number of lawsuits about to hit the proverbial fan from people who have lost work, clients, businesses - all because of what appears to be dodgy goings on at the top of Registerfly - these lawsuits will go on for years and years. I really don't see how a company like Registerfly can survive.

If I was a betting man I would give odds on Registerfly folding by the end of March.

Yes I transfered out from regfly to dynadot my most important domains without any problems at all. It was quick and done in one day.

I will leave other domains with regfly and see what happens :D

first your domain has to be unlocked and protectfly disabled for you to start transfer ... then in your Control Panel click on your domain and get whois and on the bottom you have your auth code something like : 5fg432s....

Then you start with transfer with domain registrar you want.....enter domainname and auth code and follow emails you get ....

Keep in mind that you must have your data in whois info ...
