As my topic says I would like to place a leaderboard ad after the first post in every thread and show it to guests (un-registered users) only. Is it TOS-compliant to say something like the following? I reviewed the terms and it says referring to them as 'advertisements' is allowed. [LEADERBOARD GOES HERE] Registered users have an advertisement-free experience. Click here to register. I dont see that as calling undo attention to the ads.
Seems ok since essentially you are giving the incentive, that you wont show ads if they register. It's sort of reverse of what the TOS describes/
Yep it's perfectly OK: *begin email* Hello Rose, Thanks for letting us know of your intentions. It appears that the language you have noted in your previous email: 'Registered users have an advertisement-free experience. Please click here to register.' Will not be in violation of our program policies. However, we ask our publishers to exclude language such as 'Please click here' near their ad units. Please remove this language if it will appear near your ads. *end of email* I think I will rephrase the click here to register just a bit. of course that link will lead to the new user page, but I don't want to push it.
Yup there shouldn't be a problem. It would however be better to follow Roze's advice and say something like: Registered users have an advertisement-free experience. Please register to remove this ad"... or something like that.
