    Hi,

I have a friend who has 30 domains which either redirect to other domains or have a holding page. All the domains are 5 years+ in registered age - will they have benefit in terms of their age when we put content on these URLs or are they pointless because of the content that is on them at the moment?

    Many thanks in advance.

The domains that are pointing to others need to have their own unique content because the search engines will just look at them as affiliate type spam links. The age of a domain does matter when it comes to rank in google. The rest is down to the domain, its market and the relevance of the content plus a whole host of other factors. Try looking at the domain name and putting content thats totally relevant to each domain and you should see it postion improving the next is relevant link building in particular from social bookmarking sites etc. I beleive Google suggests 10 pages of relevant content in its guidelines

But I think it would be treated as new domain by Search engine if that has no content.

Domain with no content will not be shown in browser.
