    Through Godaddy.

Registered a domain, for 2x bigger renewal payment. Domain wasn't originally mine, but of a friend. It has been more than 2 hours, domain is not showing on list.

    You ever had similar situation?

I gave up on godaddy when they wouldn't let me use my own domain as nameservers because they said dot-fm domains can not be nameservers. This was despite the fact that I sent them a letter from BRS Media, who licenses all .fm domains, saying that this is not true. I decided at this point that they are pretty much incompetent.

Having voiced that grievance, I will say I've registered maybe a dozen domains with GoDaddy and never had this problem. My purchases always showed up instantly. These were always fresh purchases of unregistered domains though, and it sounds like maybe you are dealing with a transfer from another owner to you. If that is the case then the hold up could be with whoever the domain was originally registered through. Some companies even ignore transfer requests. For example, I once transferred a domain from 1&1 to GoDaddy and 1&1 ignored the request. I had to wait an entire week for the request to be completed by default all because 1&1 wouldn't take 30 seconds to confirm it. Perhaps you're having a similar issue.

You can renew any domain I think.. Even if you don't own.
