Hi i was wondering if you guys know if there is some legal advantages of not registering your website in your own country. I am wondering because i am planning on starting an online membership website (not adult)

    Thanks

You should register you website in whatever country you are located/operating out of. Using false contact information can be grounds to lose your domain. No matter what address you use, a court order can be used to find out who paid for the domain, ip address, etc. You could add privacy protection to your domain if you are just worried about visitors being able to do a whois check for your address.

thanks but i am not planning on lying :) it's more business-wise that i am asking. For example if "contact information" is the problem i can easily move to that country. What i am really asking is: is there some countries where it's better to register than others?
