I have slightly impoved my website. I would like your comments on it and what i could do to make it more attractive?? pls...thanx
Ah well, Rome wasn't built in a day and it takes longer than a week for visitors to arrive. Blame the trains. But seriously, hosting at geocities won't help you at all. Do search engines even know you exist? If you're serious get your own domain name and host elsewhere. It is a cheap as chips now to both buy and host and it means you get noticed by the search engines. I never exchange links - I honstly don't see the reason for it (although most people here seem to swear by it ). If you have your own domain, hosted by someone reasonable, and you have genuine and good content which is regularly updated (as in lots of words, not pictures), it won't take more than a couple of days for search engines to notice your existence.
Without backlinks but good content you might get a trickle, but with backlinks and good content you might get a deluge.
For now, your website doesn't look very professional. It contains no useful information and it is only one web page long. This is not a good website to attact visitors at present moment. Try to move to a better web hosting, get a better design and content.
I love the way you start with: "WHAT IS AN AUTOMOBILE? An automobile is a wheeled vehicle which carries its own motor....."
Thanx. But if I host and create a professional website, would the website be automotically noticed by search engines?? Where is the best and cheapest place to host a website??
Dude, a whole lot of people already gave you answers to this exact same question over in your last thread, including me. We gave you very good advice that you apparently just ignored and didn't follow a single suggestion we gave you. Now this thread. Okay, here goes, my last reply to any of your posts: Godaddy.com. $10 to register a domain for one year and get 2 months hosting. After that it's $3.95 a month for hosting. Now go get your own domain and host and stop half-assing it. Sheesh.
professional design attracted visitor. you need to promote, submit link to website directories, do the link exchange. then search engine will find you. your web address is to long for people to remember and lazy to type, if not link from somewhere. how you going to tell people you know for your web address? I don't like geocities either, but I remembered that geocities is "the first place I started and experiment my web skill" when you are ready for the world,, get out of there.
ahh... geocities.. the good ol days.. but.. did goecities really allow adsense on it's page? Is it ok with yahoo? I still have my old site (almost a decade) that receive a few visitors now and then. It would be nice to have some 'exit route' on them.
If you're like me and still can't budget a hosting plan, you can download Apache HTTPD (or any other HTTP daemon), follow the installation and setup instructions and you'll be running your own HTTP server. If you're behind a router's firewall log in to the router and set up the Virtual Servers so that the Inbound Port is redirected to the Private Port where your server is running on the computer you choose, and provide the computer's network IP address, and you're live! Then just go reg a free redirect
friend, don't waste your time in promoting that site made in geocities. Make your mind, get some money buy a domain and hosting and than build a proper site and than put adsense.
hey i saw your website. i would always suggest you that .... start a blog instead of that "GEOCITIES" website... atleast you will get rid of those ads. yes and your website is a one page website. a blog is more advised for you. i started a blog 1 week back .... did some promotion and now it is earning about 1 $ per day ... i am still promoting and i hope inman a week or two i will reach 3 - 4 $ per day. i dont think that would be possible with a geocities website. My VB website gets hardly 10 visitors per day forget about the adsense. Those ads on the right really frustates ... huh ! ! ! regards Aditya
