So let say you found a High PR do-follow blog and went to comment on the recent post with your link anchored to your keywords. So what happen to the quality of your link where in fact the new blog post is unranked? will it get the same PR as the main page of the blog that has high PR?
You might be putting a little too much thought into this. Do not worry about if the page is "ranked" - just get your links out there. Lets say that your site gets popular and people start linking to it. Your looking through your google webmaster tools and see these links from various sites. So you go check them out. Are you going to ask the site to take down the link because the page does not have a page rank with google? No, you are going to be glad that someone linked to your site. In other words - Do not worry if the referring page has a page rank with google.
I agree with Kev. The pages will take a while to get ranked and in blogs they usually drop in juice becuase they sink into the archive as time goes on. Don't worry about it!
the blog itself has some authority and even though the new post doesn't have any PR or ranking, it will have them over time.
Thanks for the reply guys... My client was just a bit skeptical in creating backlinks to blog posts that are unranked.
I agree with Kev... Also, something to consider is that the 'unranked' page will later get ranked and rise in its PR over time (especially if you throw a few links to it - hint, hint). The result could be a quality link with a very high PR. I have used this method a little bit recently and am beginning to see some results, so I am planning on doing more and more of this. Hope this helps, Neil
