Hi all, That must be an unforgivable mistake of doing business with paypal in this "paypal gone mad" era - especially if you are an Indian but I have managed to do it somehow so please bear with me. I sent payments to a US seller about a month ago for some goods. The seller didn't send the goods and kept excusing for it not being in stock. I then asked for a refund and after some hot debate, the seller used the paypal's refund option and initiated the refund. However, I had used a VCC (Netsafe) to send the payments, as there was no prior balance in my paypal account. Now, paypal refunds money to the original source it generated from, and it is showing that it has done it to my VCC. But the VCC is now obviosly cancelled, thus I don't feel it is going to get any amount. Also, paypal has even removed the option of withdrawing funds to credit cards in India, it adds the complexity. So, the money is gone from paypal and no money in my bank either. Then where could my money be hanging and what should I do in order to get it back? I've experienced the paypal's customer support very well and I know, they can't do any help apart from copy pasting the usual replies. What can I do in this case?
Genx, Since that was a netsafe VCC - provided by HDFC, if you are an Indian, you can easily guess about that option. In some other thread, some is telling that HDFC just even doesn't know about what Paypal is. Though I have already contacted about them regarding this issue, they seem to be clueless. Any other Indian mate has ever encountered such situation?
No Worry, You get Money Into your VCC which generated, check bank. You will surely get it. Once i got same problem, later i got money in vcc from the bank.
Upon contacted to HDFC, they said that since the card has been caneled, it cannot recieve any funds within and will be returned to the originated source. So the concern is, that the seller has refunded me, is he the originated source and following this, will the money be sent back to the seller's paypal account? Man..that is a nightmare!!
HDFC staff is stupid. VCC cancelled means u cant pay anymore from that VCC but it still remain active for 3 motnhs. and yes u can recive refund on that . VCC are meant for shopping purposes only. if itz been more that 3 days nw. then itz a problem for u .
well I guess you can get a refund I have used a guys service for HDFC VCC and for some reason I have to cancel where I have used it and the guy has sent me the money back that means yeah it is possible to get refund on VCC.
Well onetime use VCC gets cancelled only for CHARGE and not for refund.... Refunds will come anytime. Contact HDFC or contact the person who refunded
