I am promoting a clickbank product and today I found a refund in my account. The purchase was done on 17-11-2009 and it got refunded on 22-01-2010 means after more than 60 days. Is it possible to get a refund after 60 days and will this amount will be deducted from my commissions now?
I think im right in saying that the customer can request and get a refund for any reason up till 60 days, but for another 30 days still after that the vendor can process and approve a refund still - oh and yes, I would imagine you will lose your commission as normal too.
From clickbank's site: "8. What is the policy for returns requested after 60 days? Customers requesting a return after 60 days will be directed to the vendor for technical support. Vendors may request a return, on behalf of customers, of any purchase up to 90 days after the date of the ClickBank customer's purchase."
I had a few of these happen as a vendor. I wouldn't get choked up about it because a refund is better than a charge back, and credit cards allow charge backs till 90 days. Chances are, the customer threatened a charge back, so customer service decided best to avoid the battle.
I enquired about this, and CB replied that sometimes there is a delay between the submission of the refund & the actual issue of the refund. So what happens is the refund request is submitted within the 60 day period, but is approved outside that period. This is especially so where there is also a physical product involved.
