I've been getting 500 visitors a month to a site and it's mostly referral traffic. I'm trying to find out why this is happening. Here are the four IPs: 95.215.2.27 76.73.39.227 83.133.124.95 83.133.124.250 Bounce rate from these visitors is 11% and average stay is 2 minutes. 99% new visitors.
Hi netliving, Are you doing promotional activity on your blog through social media ? If you are doing this, that is why its happening. Thanks, Sagir
Hi Sagir, I'm not promoting the site through social media or any other means. I don't even have affiliates who promote the site. If the traffic is being referred from social media, then wouldn't the referral say the respective sites such as twitter and facebook and not just simply show the IPs?
It's spam. Nothing to do with social media. It looks something like this: http://83.133.124.95/?xurl=http://8...nkvkn48jfbxcvb&xref=http://yourdomainname.com You can block it via .htaccess or add it to your server blacklist. (From Germany: http://whois.domaintools.com/83.133.124.95)
