I was checking Analytics to see what keywords Google was sending me organic traffic for. I noticed that a pretty big keyword has sent me a few visitors over the last few days. when I went to google.com and typed in this keyword, my site is nowhere to be found. How did I get organic traffic from this keyword if my site isn't listed in the top 100?

cross section the keyword with source to be sure its google.

From my experience of analytics, theres no direct listing of keywords from search engine x, they are bundled together. If there is and ive been daft to miss it please let me know :)

thats what i did. check my referring sources, click on google (organic) and then cross sectioned by keyword. This keyword came up but in google it can't be found.

The issue your possibly facing is that google has so many datacenters, your not looking at the same one the "other" user found that keyword on.

    Just a feeling.

The other way to try and track thoes keywords down, is to setup a webmaster account with google.

You can track query stats and you can also tell which google search it came form(uk, ireland, germany, france, usa, etc etc).
