I got a referral from dmoz and it is listed in the "links from search engines" in awstats, what does this mean. The site in question is not listed in dmoz. I submitted it a week ago.

An editor followed a link from DMOZ to check out your site.

If I did not get a response does this mean it was rejected. for the moment it has adsense on it and I don't know if they are allergic to adsense

    It could mean:
    1. The site was reviewed and listed (give it a few days to show)
    2. The site was reviwed and rejected
    3. The site was reviewed and moved to another category
    4. The site was reviewed and the editor was not in the mood to have to rewrite a spammy non-guideline compliant title and description, so just left it to do at another time
    5. An editor was just checking to see if it was in the right category
    6. Someone was playing mind games with you and spoofed the referal ;-)
    7. etc

Editors aren't allergic to adsense, they are sensitive to content. If the adsense is "above the fold" and "dominates" (for lack of a better word) the content, then don't hold your breath (I have not checked your site)

I guess it is the 7th point :D At least now I know that the editor for that category is active and doesn't have a lot of sites in queue. I submitted that site a week ago. If I won't get any email from him I will resubmit the site after removing adsense and make it look more professional.

I see, but when you submit in a business category, say you sell a service, and adsense puts your competitors in you site doesn't this have something to do with the credibility of the site
