Referrals work with no base weight?

If, for whatever reason, you have no base weight, does your referral weight remain active? I.E. for my site, I have 80+k base weight and 15K base weight or so... If I take the ads off my site, with the 15k base weight remain active for me?

I dont think so. My ads were pulled for a few days and it said my ads were inactive, even though I had referrals of about 3k weight.

So it said you ads were inactive, but did it still show referral weight? I want to do a bit of a test, but it involves me removing my ads at least temporarily. I just don't want to remove my ads if I'm not even going to keep the benefit of the referral ads...

yeah it still showed the referral weight. I don't know how to check to see where the ads might randomly appear, so I had to assume my ads were pulled as well, even though I had some weight from referrals.

Or I guess I could just put the ads on one page of my site and point the co-op to it so I stay validated...

Yup. Me too - worse than you actually. Just don't get it like how some sites in the network like Shawn's ebay page(s) still rank so high?

I am in a waiting period for awhile too to see how things go with the network.

Shawn's page has the power of an already well-established site (www.digitalpoint.com) behind it... in addition, he's not running any links on that page, just pointing links to it. That's my guess...
