I don't understand the rules for referrals. It says you can endorse the referral products, but you can't draw unnatural attention or ask people to click? What I want to do is basically create a page on my web site dedicated to saying how it is my sites browser of choice and basically say all the good things about it. Then under all that stuff I want to put the Google Adsense referral banner. Is that allowed or is that violating the rules?
You are allowed to write an endorsement of the referral products as long as you don't directly ask for clicks. Put a big referral button after your glowing review of Firefox/Google Pack and most people will get the idea. Edit: In answer to your question above, I would say yes - it is permissible to do that.
I was told (via telephone) by a member of the Adsense Marketing Team that you in fact CAN put something to the effect of "click here" for [name of referral here], but you cannot say something like "click here to make me money by using [name of referral here]", or "use [name of referral here] and your hair will grow back] (i.e., you cant lie). See THIS POST at the Adsense blog which clarifies it. And FYI, it is the author of that post that told me it was acceptable to encourage (honest) clicks for referrals.
Oh they've now mentioned it crystal clear in their TOS that you are allowed to promote your referrals - recommend people to download them etc etc whatever way you want... (only referrals mind you, not ads!)
yes, knowing googles harsh policy of banning at the slightest thing. its always better to check with them
Yes - Word to the wise: Do not take my word, or any other member's word when it comes to the TOS, Rules, or polices of Adsense. Whenever in doubt, email Adsense Support (then post the answer here) ..
