Reducing BIN without bumping?

As the title suggests, how do you go about reducing the BIN for a website for sale without coming across as bumping? If I want to make the sale more appealing to get the site sold, I will reduce the BIN. I don't necessarily want to have an auction system as this just complicates things.

    Thoughts?

As far as I know you're allowed to reduce the BIN only once. That's what a mod said to me. All other new BINs will be counted as bumps and you'll recieve an infraction.

I wasn't complaining about infractions so let's not go that route. I didn't really think to edit posts to be honest. I just thought it wasn't considered bumping if you were adding additional info to the thread. I would have thought reducing BIN would be considered significant information to grant a "bump", since your altering the most important aspect of the sale, the price.

Well you can reduce by your edit time period or send a report to Mod if you reduced it first time. They will edit it.

I didn't know reducing the BIN was considered a bump? Is it not relevant information regarding the sale... that's why im still all for the "auction" style listings such as on SP or ebay :D All relevant info would be in the first post instead of 5 pages back.

That's stupid lol and should of been reported.

He means the auction/BIN system, it's very similar to Ebay, except it's integrated into a forum as well....

The problem with posts just lowering the BIN, as I have seen discussed, is that people put a high bin, so that they can then reduce it, like a sale.

If this happens, then everyone overprices their BIN, knowing that the only negative is that they can lower it and get a bonus bump.

To me, the problem is not it being lowered, but threads where you see the person lowering it 5+ times until they make a sale. Each bump, hurts other sellers who get pushed downward.

Or, I see this being used at another forum.

Instead of a thread going straight to the top once it's been posted in, just in the BST forum a threads position is based on when it was posted. That way a new thread doesn't get pushed to the bottem by popular threads.

Just a thought, don't hate me for it :p

    I think I understand.

Whenever someone posts in the thread, it doesn't go to the top, just stays where it was when originally posted - correct?

    That's a good idea! :D
