Reducing a Forum's Server Load/Ram Usage

    Hey there everyone.

Recently I've been having some problems with my forums using up a lot of ram and server resources - I'm going to compensate for them by giving the software all the resources it needs, but I'd like to see if there is anything I can do to minimize those numbers.

    Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

    Note: I'm using vBulletin. :)

vBulletin is very resource intensive. Some shared hosts refuse to host it, that gives you an idea of the resources it uses.

I would try installing a cache to reduce ram usage. I hear memcache is a popular one.

Post your server specs at http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=14 and they try to help you configure the server to suit vbulletin.

    Good luck!
