Redo of old site - have some basic SEO questions

So I am rebuilding a website that I just purchased. It is indexed pretty well in google right now, so I dont want to hack up the old pages too much.

Right now everything is in .html pages

Here is an example of how one of them looks with the old design.

Im in the process of redesigning and adding more ads. Here is an example of one that I'm currently working on. This one is in php.

First of all, any design tips?
    Any SEO tips?

Should I not put the new php files into individual folders for SEO purposes? Should I leave the old ones at html and just code the new ones as .php? If I leave them as .html I still need to include some php files inside of the html for some of the ads that I run. How can I configure my .htaccess file to do this for only certain directories?

Thank you very much for the help.

You know you can use .htaccess to make php work in the old html files.

    AddHandler application/x-httpd-php .php .html

This way you don't have to do any redirects or change the site structure.

Not only that, but if the site is ranking well for the terms you want it to and has plenty of incoming links to your pages, you really don't want to change the page structure anyway.

As the old saying goes, if it isn't broke, don't fix it.

Ended up keeping it all as .html pages. Anything new I added I just included a php file when needed. I did not change any of the content besides moving some ads around.

    All PHP includes
    - Popular Categories List
    - List of movies on the right side
    - Ebay Ads on the left side

Here is what the new version looks.

Let me know what you think.
