Redirects & Page Ranking

I have two e-commerce sites offering similar products. Site1 is ranked in the top 3 on Google, Site2 is ranked in the top 3 on Yahoo. Ideally, I want users to use Site1 regardless of where they came from.

    My Question is:
If i were to put a redirect on Site2's index page to Site1's index page, will I lose my yahoo ranking for this page?

If you redirect, the search engines will only see one website. Theoretically your PR would pass from site2 to site1 and cause site1 to replace site2's yahoo rankings. I kinda doubt that you would retain rankings on both search engines though. I'm thinking your Yahoo rankings probably wouldn't come back. Really you probably should've just stuck with one website from the start.
