redirects and getting search engine recognition

I bought a number of nice domain names and am ready to upload my first pages. ). Anyhow there's one website I havent yet found the right name for as a standalone website/domain name. I am eager to get this website published though (as the services are ready and advertising as well) so I plan to put it on a portal type of site that I bought and is ready to be published. The portal is very generic type of name example "Westcoastfishing.com"

So I have say a business that sells lures, I want to first put it on the portal site before I find the right domain name for it. Then I plan to transfer the site to a better domain name and leave a re direct in place. That's as far as I can understant, I am pretty new.

Will this kill the search engine recognition from Google, that I establish at this stage ? I mean when I change the domain name and have it on it's own domain name will the spiders go through the process all over again? So basicallly I would be losing time in the long run.

    thank you.

No, but you should just wait until you have the primary domain for this website.

thank you for your response. However, I find one word answers to be a bit confusing to me.

Are you saying "no" this re-direct later, will not effect search engines finding me. If so then why should I wait to put up the site. I dont get it. So if this will not hurt me why should I wait? Still confused...

Look through Google's eyes. Would you trust a website that starts off with one domain, then produces great content, gets great backlinks from trusted sources or one that doesn't. I'm not saying that you are not gonna make a great website and produce great quality backlinks if you get what i'm what i'm saying. Changing domains early is not a good sign and not good for SERPs.

The best way to proceed is to use your own domain name and start with that. It will save you alot of hassle and you do not need to redirect anything.

Also links which are build will stay preserved and point to the correct site.

okay, I understand that. I am still early into the process and I want to do it the right way... Also see my related question, having to do with adwords and the use of phone numbers. I guess it's in the other section.
