if you are using a redirection from the old domain to the new domain, does the old domain be deindexed or it will remained on the list of indexed pages by google?
AFAIK, it will NOT be delisted. That is, if you do a 301 on www.site1.com to www.site2.com, then when you run the query site:www.site1.com OR site:www.site2.com, they will return their indexed pages. Hence, it will not be delisted.
Only webmasters use the site: operator. Links pointing to the old pages should be "counted" for the new pages in case of a 301 redirect, but the content of the old pages will disappear from the index. This process takes time. This can be days, weeks or months. You never know. Jean-Luc
Yes. "301 redirect" is the method recommended by search engines when you move a site from an old domain to a new one. Jean-Luc
