Say I have two sites. abc.com and xyz.co.uk If abc.com was a permanent redirect to xyz.co.uk if I linked to abc.com would PR and SERP change be passed to xyz.co.uk instantly. Example: If I bought 100 links to abc.com with the anchor "Blue Chair" would the effect on xyz.co.uk be equal as to if those 100 links linked directly to xyz.co.uk instead of the redirecting abc.com? I know PR does get passed on but wondering about SERP luv and whether it's instant or not. Cheers
only PR from abc will pass to xyz. if it is a permanent redirect, then why linking to abc and not linking to xyz directly?
But not instantly as soon as Google updates itself and for ranking by default abc.com is there and gradually xyz.co.uk will come there according to the relevancy factor. and xyz.co.uk will get full benefit of back links of abc.com
So it would be pointless if I got links to my abc.com site with the anchor text "blue chair" if I wanted my xyz.co.uk site to rank for "Blue Chair"?
If you pointed links at abc.com with the anchor text "blue chair". abc.com would then start to rank better for "blue chair" not xyz.co.uk - but this really isn't a problem since abc.com would 301 redirect to xyz.co.uk anyway.
