Redirecting links through my site?

First off I would like to say that I searched online and did not find a true answer to my question.

Well I own a website where me and a couple of friends post freebies and deals and stuff like that every day. The site is slowly gaining more and more traffic, but that's not the point. I have a competitor who is using WrodPress blogging platform and is able to redirect all links to the freebies, deals and free stuff that he posts through his site. For example if the freebie was say on facebook, when you hover over the link it would say facebook.com and then stuff after that, but his links every time you hover over them it says the name of the site for example instead of facebook.com/ (all the stuff that goes after the slash) it would say hisfreebiesite.com/ (pretty much all the stuff that went behind the slash in the original link). I read an article online that when using such technique it helps improve SEO and when others try to copy your content and links it creates backlinks for you. So I was wondering if I could possibly do that same type of redirecting on my site which is using Blogger blogging platform?

I don't know if you were able to understand what I was trying to say, because I don't know if that's really how I am suppose to explain it. In order for me to improve the explanation I would like to provide a real life example. 1channel.ch is a site where movies a posted daily and there a many different links where users can watch those movies. If you select a certain movie and click on one of the links say for example "Version 2" of any movie it will take you to the site that is streaming the movie, but in the front of the link it will say 1channel.ch/external and then some stuff after that. I was just wondering if I could make my links to external site appear the same way or similar in any way.

Hope I was clear enough. Definitely looking forward to your responses.

What you are looking for is a "Link Masking Script" or "Link Mask Plugin" also called an Affiliate Link Masker

I think your competitor is using a link masking plugin or a redirect plugin. You can try using Pretty Links plugin if you're using Wordpress.

Hope that helps. Have a good day!

Thank you guys for the help. I just switched platforms and now I am using Wordpress, so it will be a lot easier for me to just install a plug in and do it than mess with a ton of coding.

Yes, your life would be much easier just installing a plugin that does the same thing than mess with HTML. All the best! :)
