Is redirecting domains to one a good form of traffic?

What do you mean? Is the traffic allowed or will it convert? It depends on how you are using domain redirects. In one respect you would depend entirely on organic, typed-in traffic to your domain name, that is then redirected to your landing page or other offer. Another method might use multiple TLDs of the same domain name for redirection of affiliate codes instead of using PHP scripts.

Yes its good for sudden traffic hike.
But it don't help you gain long term traffic.
Your traffic will not stay for long.

If you have 2 domain names and both of them are with traffic I assume that would be good idea to have have one redirected to another and that of course will improve the traffic

I was just curious in finding out if redirecting traffic was good long-term. What would you advise as the best way to build up strong long-term traffic/visitors?

Redirecting will not be that useful from a long view.If you want good long-tem flows, you'd better do these
things:First, keep on SEO work. Then, promote your domain and site on and on.What's more, you can still improve
the flows by putting your website link on other websites after their agreement.
