redirected domains

    Hi I just got hold of some free domains and have redirected them to my related sites.

    How does it affect SE that eg 6 domains are all redirected to 1 domain?
    Will I be penalised for this? Will i get any traffic from those 6 domains?

    with 301 redirection you should not get penalized
    but you won't have much benefits, except for the typein traffic

    301 redirection is the same as using .htaccess?

    How can I tell what kind of redirect it is?

    I just redirected using the redirect function on my domain registrar
