redirected domain

    Hello everybody:
My DSL provider gives me a free hosting service, with a good speed and reliability, but the domain name is really long and awful.
I'm working in a web site and I'm thinking about buying a domain name and use the "redirected domain" feature, that redirects the visitor browser to the real name of the page.
In addition, the redirection can use frames to hide the real name of the page, in a way that the visitor always, and only, sees the domain name.
    But my questions are:
1 Is this Google friendly?: the redirection..., the frames...
2 Should I build my external links pointing to the domain name, or to the real name of the page?

Just get a free host (shamefull plug: www.fusionxhost.com -- go in teh forums for info) that supports DNS, you wont regret it. Both frames and redirection are search engine nightmares.

I would not do that with a serious site. One of my clients needed a page up in a hurry, as in the next day. He had an unused domain domain name. We put up a page oh his existing server and pointed domain name to the page. All went well until someone linked to page under domain name pointing to page. It took time for this to happen but we were ultimately hit with a duplicate content penalty.

If it is a SOGPIP (silly old grandmother with pictures in purse site) it will be fine.
