Redirect unused domains to my current sites? Advisable or no?

Is this a good idea or a bad one? I have a couple domains I am not using at the moment. Could I point them to a couple of my sites for extra traffic?

If the name has tm issues then don't redirect it to your site, you could face legal action. let it remain unresolved.
