Hi, I'm newbie on Amazon affiliate. Say I have a link on my website that goes to a page on my website and then redirected to Amazon affiliate link. Is this kind of action will be tracked by Amazon or not? eg. I have a link in my website that goes to www.mywebsite.com/product/123456 and then as soon as that page is loaded it will be redirected to www.amazon.com/xxxx?tag=xxx-20 thank you
I think redirects are against Amazon's TOS. You need to display the exact affiliate link on your website as supplied by Amazon. If your visitor clicks on that link and start shopping within 24 hours, you'll get paid.
but I saw some website doing that. for example TheFind.com. when you mouse over the link it shows the link to their website but when you click it goes to Amazon product page with the affiliate id.
Yes you can redirect. Amazon even has an option to post products to twitter with the click of the button and they use tiny urls for the links.
but I notice my Amazon clicks tracking doesn't increment if I click my URL that goes to my website(ex myweb.com/redirect.aspx?productid=1234) and then redirect to proper amazon link. anyone experience this before and know the solution for this???
Go to your Amazon associate account and under menu links and banners select Link Checker of the link you use on your redirect page. I hope this helps Fernando
