I own a site which has a jumble of pages - the home page and recently added pages are PHP. but there are still a number of old htm and html pages.

The previous owner of the site left them as they have good rankings. However I would like to add new pages using the sites CMS or install a wordpress blog and then redirect them.

Would I lose rankings for these pages?
Should I leave the old pages inplace and redirect to new pages or replace them?
    How should i do this?

    Thanks alot for your help

    The site is http://bodycleansediet.com

An example of a page is http://http://www.bodycleansediet.com/isogenics.htm (as mess I know!)

    In my opinion

Create the new pages in wordpress
301 the old pages via .htaccess
submit a sitemap of new pages in webmaster tools

You may find that your rankings dip a little bit while everything is being re-indexed/cached, but it should all come back
