Redirect Help

I was reading Matt Cutts blog and read this which explains an alternate way of not counting paid links. On his blog he says this:

"make a paid link go through a redirect where the redirect url is robot’ed out using robots.txt"

How do you do that? I really don't have a clue. Please help...

I think you are talking about Affiliate or paid links.. many folks used to do this practice. i.e. they disallow robots to crawl that links using robots.txt

I didnt realise how old it was, but I still don't understand how to do the redirect.
