I would suggest worlddatingpartners.com if you want to develop it. They are free and pretty flexible.
I checked them out, their setup process for making a site is messed up. But I decided I would really rather have full control over my website lol.
What do you mean? lol they give you everything for free! You have to put some work into the site's design but there is no expenses... look at dating.com !!!! Million dollar site... for free.
LoL you could put a craigslist clone on a domain like "Dating.com" and it would be a million dollar site. Does world-dating-partners give you access to the source code and everything?
lol true. But they guy who owns it didn't pay anything for it, that's what I meant. You can edit most of the things in the site, take the time to check it out. I have a really dumb domain using their platform and I have gotten a few paid subscriptions.
Yeah i was installing a dating script on it and some douchebag screwed with it before i could finish so I have to start over.
dating is good....but too obvious. Look into the viability of a niche (V Day) product/ gift site..gotta make it 'hot'. It could be year around (anniversary, b-day, bachelor/ette party, etc.) once a client list is built and URL is branded.... but what do I know
I see what you mean fitchtank. I think you meant find another spot in the "love" niche other than dating. Right?
Yep...I'm not talking XXX or anything. Look at Pajama Grams for cryin' out loud! They sell matching his & hers flannel pajamas with eggs & bacon and utensils designed on them (not kidding). Then they take the mumu brrrr .... pajamas and stuff them into a pretty round 'hat" box and add a card. I'm not sure about you but breakfast foods displayed on an oversized set of pj's isn't exactly what I look forward to....but hey, you have an eloquent seasonal hat box....which is what I would rather see her in. If a company like pg has made it this long, and with great success, it should act as a model case study for us all in the identification and true exploitation of a seasonal/ holiday micro-niche product offering/ service. Mainly marketed to a demographic that doesn't know what type of gift to purchase for the opposite sex, which subsequently leads to prolonged procrastination and progresses into a desparate impulse buyer. You don't want to visit the mall (ouch) and with the clock ticking down towards d-day you start to panic. But an angel appears by way of a radio spot on your local sports talk show which seems to be speaking only to you. You call immediately and the Jedi mastered personal service portion of their model kicks in with a friendly, knowledgable woman soothing your nerves and basically telling you what you need to purchase and that with their outstanding shipping it will make it on-time. The product is sub-par but the marketing and service is genius (and I honestly don't follow them or even buy their food). Like other service first and product second types of models the target is an uneducated buyer in a time sensitive predicament and is of the mindset "must have something by yesterday that looks special and thoughtful or I'm going without for a while". This domain would be great for something much more automated yet similiar...but hold the bacon. That's all I have to say about that.
