I do like the design, its well organized and like bill stated, clean.

Some suggestions that I have are:
- For the header area, I would make the white part of the gradient very light blue (because theres enough white in the content area)
- For the verticle adsense ads in your content area I would make the links blue so that they stand out more and get noticed by viewers
