Redesign and diffrent structure?

Our site is PR6 and has about 13.000 pages indexed in google.
We are just to lunch a redesigned site which has a different link structure than the old one. How will this affect on google and other SE? Will google re-index our pages or what?

Our visitors are mainly from SE so our worry is in place.

use mod_rewrite to redirect (with a permanet 301 redirect) all old URLs to the new ones.

With that many pages I'm guessing it is a shopping cart of some kind. I don't believe you can mod rewrite urls that have been rewritten before can you?

If he is rewriting the structure differently I don't think you can forward one to the other.

    Ideas?

Don't rename the pages that are showing in SE's.
Also don't remove/rename the pages that are linked by other websites .

This is something that's puzzled me for a while.

Is it better to leave the old pages there and risk duplicate content, or but 301s on everything.... ?

    Hmm
