hi dp'ers! I could really use your suggestions I really need to diversify my marketing efforts and I'd like to work on Social Bookmarking to create some links to my sites or articles(directories) ... BUT! Well "reddit" (gawwdd!) turned out to be my 1st effort today This seems to be very "high" wall to climb(if you catch my drift) or maybe I take "rules and faq's" too seriously ...but they seem very "ethically based" and not the kind of place someone can "lay some links" rather quickly I mean Reddit obviously stayed in good standing with googles algo changes because they are not fraught with "crapp", it's obviously a site that takes SB seriously! I applaud them !!! but that doesn't help me any!!!! (arrrgghh!) Can someone suggest an "easier place to start?" Pretty please? But then again "you get what you pay for in a sense" and the lower quality and "the ease" of which you can "lay down some pipe" will usually turn out to be "links of less value" but maybe someone "in the middle"??? I really appreciate any feedback thank you AMF~
What are you trying to post? Reddit has no patience for commercial postings and they have a pretty keen sense of what's commercial and what isn't. That being said, if you post something interesting that just happens to be on your own blog, you could still get upvotes for that.
Well I actually just launched my own social bookmarking website last month because I was in a similar position as you and it seems to be gaining some popularity, you might want to check it out - it's the one in my signature.
Not sure exactly what you are trying to promote but have you tried Twitter and Facebook? In the end content itself will make others promote it for you. That's the only way to go big.
you would think so. On reddit its all about connecting to the audience. You need quality content and some movie references it will get you some good upvotes. They are just looking for interesting content. I see 100's of reposts that get bumped up there everyday and a lot of stuff that should make to the front page do make it. The other day I saw a few photo shopped images show up on the frontpage.
