Red Links from SEObook Plugin

I'd read somewhere here earlier that one of the SEObook firefox extensions (or whatever it's called) was good for helping with link-building, by giving information on links found via google's search. So I installed it. It looks like a nice tool. However, since installing it, Firefox is showing a red background on certain links (but not all). I came across a sitepoint thread mentioning that it might be the culprit, but with no solution. Is there a way to fix that, or do I just need to uninstall it and forget it?

when you don't need it, just click on it's icon at the bottom of the browser and the link highlight feature will be disable

Yeah, I just found the option to disable it. lol Sorry. Out of curiosity though, from a link-building perspective when you're using it to research potential backlink opportunities, what's the value of highlighting?
