Recycling Topics on Ezine Gets Stale and = No Views?

Basically I typically recycle topics for articles on ezine but vary my keywords each time, but I've noticed that a topic will do very well for awhile when I introduce it, but eventually the views go way down, then I'll try a new topic and the views will be decent again. I was under the impression that Ezine's visitors were mostly unique, but this suggests that the same people browse Ezine everyday and ignore topics of articles I've already done and only bite (view) when I start (and recycle) a new topic for awhile. What's the truth here?

I've only just started on ezine a few weeks ago and have 30 articles up but I have realised that in the first few days I get the hits...then pretty much nothing. I am guessing that I need more backlinks but it would take me all day to backlink them all 30 times or something! So what I ask is what is to stop me deleting the old article and spin it into a new one?

But then I see some articles that have had thousand of views and are years old...

Yea my articles got pretty good traffic in the beginning and then just dropped like yours.

You could take it down and spin it into a new one but it would be better to backlink the articles. Yea that may take a while but once you get enough links you can just let it sit and get traffic on autopilot. If you spun them then you would have to keep doing it all the time to keep a steady flow of traffic.

    Just my 2 cents

I hate to ask this question but how many do you think is 'enough' links - just a ballpark figure!

I wish i could give you a ballpark figure but its really hard to say. It all depends on the competition for the keyword.

I guess i shouldn't have made that statement. Yes, links are very important for SEO but its not the only factor in getting your site ranked.

Thanks, I guess I'll just keep the articles I have then and gradually build up the links, hoping this will keep them appearing in the search engines. Am doing about 10 articles a week but am hoping that at some point I can slow down (maybe after 500 or so!) and focus on other stuff!

Ha I actually meant I write multiple articles - each with a similar title/theme, but I change the keywords each time. I'll notice when I come up with a topic for a string of articles, it'll do well at first, but as I'll continue to write articles with that similar title, the views will begin to go down for later articles I write, not simply I write one article then notice the views go down shortly after submitting.

People submit articles targeting the same keywords all day long. Ezinearticles is mostly just regurgitated content for quick traffic.

Most people just do it for the short term traffic without even caring about ranking. Once the article leaves the "recent" list, traffic dies down.

    Cheers

I read a post in another forum about this topic. If I remember correctly, they did 30 backlinks. It was done slowly (makes it appear natural to Google) and all articles including their webiste were original, one of a kind. After that, it was on auto pilot.

It must have been a low competition keyword. That's why I say you can't put a number on it. If there is higher competition it will take more than 30 backlinks to rank it well.
