Recruiting Expert Talent For Membership Sites?

For those of you who are involved in running membership sites, I wanted to as a simple question.

How do you attract expert/authority talent to your membership site?

For example, if you were running a site about weight loss . . . Something where there's no software or info product type of thing being sold - only pure content and access to authorities on the subject, how would you go about recruiting them?

If I were interested in doing something like this in the internet marketing world, I have a pretty good idea of how I would approach the experts I needed (quid pro quo).

However, in a non-internet marketing niche, or in a niche where the experts might not even be that technically saavy, or don't have their own site/product which they are trying to sell - how would you recruit them?

I've thought about the possibility of offering them a cut of the membership fees, but I think that for what I would want to charge, I wouldn't be able to give them much money if I wanted more than a few people.

    Any ideas on this?

    Thanks
