Anyone know some good software to recover files from a damaged CD?
I've got a 140MB file that is giving me a "cyclic redundancy check" error.

I absolutely positively need to recover this file.

there is only One software i currently know of which has served me well before..

google Bad Copy Pro its an excellent software..worth paying for...

also forgot to mention..this is what happened to me before..like on a CD...like out of 100 files..10 were corrupted..while if you copy normally..(this is a Bug in windows) even if one file is corrupt, WIndows will show cyclick redu...error..whereas this Software..Badcopy..will recover..recoverable files :)

    @ syedwasi87 - thank you so much!
I tried a few other applications and they didn't work. Bad Copy Pro DID work.
I'm saved! Time to reburn all my 10 year old CDs to new discs I think ....

    THANKS :D

I'd give you rep if we weren't in GC, and...

not that i am trying spread chaos or something..neither begging for reps...

but i was talking ot my friend the other day...there are loopholes around almost everything :) and that does not exclude DP's rep system,

When something doesnt work in the obvious, you need to adapt so that it works...

I still remember this saying in Hindi, which for convenience i think cud be understood in english too..

"When the butter doesnt come out using fingers straight, it can be extracted using bent fingers"

dunno how much sense it makes..but still..
