I'd never recommend to go with freeware like Recuva or TestDisk etc. as it makes my 1TB of data permanent non recoverable, when i was seriously suffering from heavy data loss circumstances. Instead, I had used Stellar Phoenix Photo Recovery Software 5.0 which efficiently scans and recovers all of my memory card photos without hampering its quality.

You can get it from here: http://www.stellarinfo.com/digital-media-recovery.htm.

    Thanks

Have you tried to use Data Recovery, You can use it to scan the lost data and choose what you want to recover. It can recover photos, videos, SMS and other multimedia files from both external hard drive, mobile phone, digital camera and iOS devices with high quality.

Dr.Fone allows you to mess with the mobile phone backups. Perhaps, you can use that or something similar?

Maybe there is some problem with your cellphone software? I recommend you go to an authorized service center and let the professionals deal with it. :)
