Recommended number of URLS in sitemap ?

    Hello

    my site has over 200,000 pages - which of them 25,000 are indexed in Google during last 6 months.

    Now it seems Google is indexing abit slowly, I am getting more links form other sites just to speed up this indexing process.

    I was wondering, number of URLS in a site map, Can this be the issue ?

    You shouldn`t have more than 50.000 link in one sitemap file.
    I usually use 20.000 link per file and it works good for me.

    Perhaps your sitemap generator software can split your links across multiple xml sitemap files.
