Recommendations wanted please - Best , easiest & most straightforward Web host
A friend of mine has some cognitive problems & so I have offered my help in making up a website.

I would like to find the best , easiest to use & the most straightforward Web host
Out there : so you can see why it has too be SO easy to use as well as straightforward especially as she wants to be able to update and manage the website on her own in the future. The max. she can afford is around $ 100 per year.

If anyone has ANY suggestions – please send me a message or post here.

    Thanks Craig

Much more will depend on how the site is made than the web hosting. If you have a good CMS that's easy to understand, that would be more helpful than a good, simple web host. Once you get the site going (I'm assuming that's what's going on), you or your friend won't touch the files again, and will only interact with the site via the CMS or backend.

I would check out the best webhosts for 2009. It reviews the top rated hosts for the entire year. You are sure to find a good one there.

A content management system (CMS) would be the easiest way for them to update the site once you set it up for them.

    easy isn't always fun :)

Most hosts would be straight forward, for easiness I'd recommend a host with cPanel (or even direct admin) because it allows you to manage your website content very easily, including emails, backups, traffic logs, etc.

As for being able to update easily, as others suggested, a CMS would do. Something like Wordpress would be a good start. It's easy to use, very common, tons of ways to customize. Others include Joomla, Mambo, Drupal, etc. Getting a host with installatron or fantastico would help as well because they allow you to install these scripts automatically with a few clicks. Very New User Friendly.

And if your friend is just getting started, then a $100/yr is a good budget if she looks to getting realistic space limits. Anything that looks too good to be true usually is. She should expect to pay around $1 per GB of space per month, just a base for now, it differs from company to company though.

Good luck to you and your friend on finding a host.

I have seen your request on another forum I visit and I think you need to add more information into the request you have and explain other people what you are looking for with as many as possible details
