Can anyone recommend any forums etc (apart from the on on DP) where I can trade backlinks. I've been having trouble finding relevant links for my niche websites on subjects such as Skydiving. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
I can recommend resellergo.com you can add your site to relevant directories and it costs $4 per domain and you can get around 1500 backlinks with about 700 of those pr1+ Shmoe
I do exactly what your looking for using Receive Links. Its a free service for what you need, only advanced features cost which you dont really need unless a "power" link builder. That is you do link building for dozens or more sites. Try it out! I highly recommend it.

If you really want skydiving links, be patient and keep trying different searches for places to leave comments, make posts, add your link, etc. "skydiving wiki" "skydiving blog" "skydiving forum" "skydiving "add link"" etc
I started using Receive Links recently..not sure about the effectiveness yet... one phrase I've been working on for a while recently got up below serp 50 but as soon as I put it in Receive links it dropped out completely! Probably just coincidence but I'm going to be watching it closely what it does with other phrase serps. I like DLA (see affil. link in my sig), it is similar but also gives you the option of just buying links or just selling them - or reinvesting. With Receive Links it is like only a barter - you can trade links but not buy or sell them with real US Dollars.
